PWB Signing Day Kicks off New GHBA Council

More than 110 members lined up at the GHBA offices on December 16 to officially launch the new Professional Women in Building Council (PWB). Pink hard hats, cookies, and a few stray balloons made this kickoff event extra festive!

This new council is the voice of women in the building industry, dedicated to promoting industry professionalism and supporting opportunities for its members.

GHBA’s PWB Council will be a local chapter of the NAHB Professional Women in Building Council. Half of local PWB members’ dues go to the NAHB, so that local members are also part of the National PWB Council and receive full benefits of membership.

GHBA received 92 applications in one day to join the PWB ranks, and we are very excited for the future of this council. GHBA would also like to extend a huge thank you our PWB annual sponsors!

PWB will meet quarterly for educational programs and networking. PWB’s inaugural networking event will be a “Galentine’s Day” on February 15 with an Iron Chef kitchen competition to foster relationships among council members.

To get involved in PWB, please email Donna Buenik. (Men are welcome, too!)

We look forward to continuing to create opportunities for communities of residential construction professionals to connect and grow at your GHBA.
