Denny Patterson is the vice president of Lone Star Air Systems. Denny leads a great team who is passionate about providing superior customer service, living out their core values each day, doing the right thing, and being stewards in the community. He also shared how much of an influence Darrel Teelucksingh, president of Lone Star Air Systems has had on him and the entire Lone Star Air Systems team. “Darrel is a great businessman, friend, man of faith, and mentor,” said Denny. “Darrel is an entrepreneur and visionary who makes everyone around him better. I am proud of our entire team, a great group of people who work tirelessly to deliver results to all our builder partners.”
“I love the building business,” Denny added. “I enjoy the variety that our industry provides, from being in the field walking houses to the board room working with the GHBA. As a young man, Steve Becker, a mentor to me, taught me to be a steward of my time, talents, and resources to benefit those around me. This phrase is very similar to the phrase inside the GHBA about volunteering. I believe it is my responsibility to give back to the association and industry hence the reason for my involvement and passion for our industry. It is just the right thing to do. I also believe life is relationships and the rest are just the details. I have benefited from my involvement in the GHBA and am a better person and leader because of the people and deep friendships for which I am forever grateful. I am passionate about membership because the members are what make the GHBA a special place…second to none. Investing in new members is developing the future of the GHBA, when a new member does well, the whole association advances.”
Denny’s involvement with the GHBA includes: past chair of the Membership Committee (retention, ambassador, and membership), Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Associate Council president, Volume Builders Committee, BBQ Committee chair, GHBA Strategic Planning Committee, GHBA board member, various Homeaid Cares projects, Presidential Citation, and Associate of the Year.

Denny has been married to Sara for 23 years. “She is my best friend and partner in life and that is why I call her partner,” he said. “We have two girls Trinity (15) and Sadie (12). My family is very important. We love to spend time together, most of which happens on horseback. When Sara and I met in college her family had horses, the rest is history.”
Both of his daughters compete in TJHSRA/THSRA in barrel racing, poles, breakaway roping, and goat tying while Denny competes as a heeler in team roping. “I am blessed the girls enjoy horses as we get to spend a lot of time together. My role is to be their coach, trailer driver, and biggest fan. Many times, they think they are learning about horses or rodeo, however, they are really learning about overcoming challenges, having confidence in themselves, working hard, the value of your word, and doing the right thing.”
Denny serves as a state director for TJHSRA in region 6 and was recently elected to be vice president. He and his family attend Community of Faith Church and enjoy giving back to the community. He also serves on the board for Fellowship of Christian Athletes Rodeo in Texas. “During COVID our family has enjoyed eating dinner together every evening and being thankful for friends and family.”
