Matthew Reibenstein, president of AR Homes – Royal Design Build Co., a member of the GHBA for 11 years, was recently elected to the vacated position of GHBA board secretary in a special election in May, after his nomination by the Leadership Development Committee.
“As a member for over a decade, I have always looked up to our leadership and other professionals that dedicate their time and talents to make the GHBA one of the largest and most successful homebuilder associations in the nation,” said Reibenstein. “It is an incredible honor to be nominated as the secretary on the GHBA ladder and serve alongside so many that I have looked up to for years, but also to help pave the way for another generation of young builders that may just be getting into the industry or considering membership. With this new role, I am excited to continue building deep relationships, use my experiences to help the GHBA adapt to (or fight) the ever-changing policies and regulations for the benefit of our members, and help steer councils and committees to ensure we are forward-thinking with new events and opportunities, all while remaining fiscally responsible.”
“I initially joined the GHBA mostly for educational purposes and had no idea how beneficial my membership would be to my business and our industry,” Reibenstein continued. “It was not until I really became involved that I learned just how many opportunities I would have to help impact political and legislative decisions that affect the residential construction and development industries. More than anything, the GHBA has afforded me invaluable relationships with other professionals and continues to instill such pride in me to be part of an organization that is passionate about improving people and businesses in a positive manner.”

Matthew has held a number of positions within the association, and he and his company have received a variety of awards. Matthew was a GHBA board member in 2015 and 2017, was the president of MCBDD, (now known as Northern Counties Builders and Developers Division – NCBDD) in 2015 and 2017 and is currently a board member for the NCBDD, a position he has held since 2012. Matthew has also participated twice in Austin for the Texas Association of Builders’ Legislative Rally Day. Matthew was named as the 2017 GHBA Custom Builder of the Year and has received multiple Star Awards as well as the 2014 Excellence Under 45 Award from the Texas Association of Builders.
Matthew also holds several NAHB designations including his Certified Graduate Associate (CGA), Certified Green Professional (CGP), Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) and Graduate Master Builder (GMB).
Matthew is a graduate of Texas A&M University and has been married to his wife, Katy, for 14 years. Together they have three children, Paxton (10), Brinlee (8), and Reagan (5).
“We love raising our amazing kids on our land in Montgomery, Texas,” said Matthew. “We enjoy a very active lifestyle and there never seems to be a dull moment between church, soccer, dance, horses, Bible studies, hunting, Aggie football and serving in our local community or with the many non-profit organizations we are passionate about. God has given us so much and we feel blessed to be able to share these special moments and memories in life with family and friends.”
