Bridgeland is the site of a 2019 Benefit Home. Bridgeland is a development of The Howard Hughes Corporation (HHC), and managed by The Woodlands Development Company. HHC generously donated the lot for a Benefit Home that is being built by M/I Homes.
Each year two to three homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project with donated land, construction management, materials, labor and services by GHBA members. These homes are constructed with upgrade materials and features and are sold at market value. Proceeds from the sale are donated to two local charities. The beneficiaries are HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. Since the project began 39 years ago, over $11 million has been raised.
Bridgeland is an 11,400-acre master planned community located in Cypress, Texas. The community is consistently ranked one of the top-selling master planned communities in Texas throughout its 12-year history. The award-winning development offers a wide variety of housing options and extensive outdoor amenities, with a strong emphasis on conserving and enhancing the natural environment.
Bridgeland has over 3,000 acres dedicated to lakes, trails and parks, and offers a resort-style pool, disc-golf course, stocked lakes and complimentary use of kayaks, paddle boats and other recreational equipment for residents. Lakeland Village Center®, now open, is the first of four retail centers in Bridgeland, with additional plans for a future Town Center along Grand Parkway/Highway 99, which intersects the community.
“This is the sixth lot that HHC has donated in Bridgeland for the Benefit Homes Project,” said John Williams, president of the GHBA. “They also donated several lots over the years in The Woodlands. The Howard Hughes Corporation is incredibly generous and very aware of our community and the struggles faced by both the homeless and veterans returning from duty. This donation will benefit so many deserving people.”
M/I Homes is partnering with Bridgeland where they recently broke ground on the Roseville Plan. The Benefit Home will be built with the help of dozens of vendors, suppliers and trades who will provide materials, labor and services to ensure it is constructed at minimal cost.

A second Benefit Home is currently under construction. Chesmar broke ground in February on its 2,746 sq. ft. Mesquite Plan. This two-story design features four bedrooms with a fifth bedroom/study option, three full baths, walk-in closets, a game room, an island kitchen and a two-story open family room off the kitchen. The home is being built on a lot in NorthGrove, located off FM 2978 in Magnolia, Texas in southern Montgomery County. Toll Brothers, the community’s developer, donated the homesite.
