The Sales & Marketing Council (SMC) is a forum for new home industry professionals to meet, network and exchange ideas. Houston’s Sales & Marketing Council is proud to hold the title of the largest SMC in the country.

The SMC is committed to the education, motivation and growth of its membership—those who represent the epitome of professionalism in the marketing, merchandising, and sales of new homes. The council consists of GHBA members who are dedicated to the professional sales or marketing-related disciplines of the industry, including new home sales and those who support the activity of new home sales. The SMC includes employees of home builders, developers and associate members.

Dues for an Individual Membership are $100 and include discounts towards meetings and events.

Affiliate SMC Membership is $191 and affords those SMC members their own searchable listing on the GHBA website, a 100 word write-up in Houston Builder magazine and an annual magazine subscription.


Sales & Marketing Council Events

The Sales and Marketing Council is responsible for Houston’s Best PRISM Awards each year, which help promote builders, developers, remodelers and associate members to the public as well as reward them for their stellar performance in the industry.

Networking and educational events are held several times throughout the year and offer an opportunity for professionals to learn about relevant industry topics and exchange ideas. The Battle of the Builders is held annually and promotes continuing education through healthy competition. Top producer designations are awarded each quarter and annually in order to recognize sales professionals for their hard work and dedication to new home sales. Texas Bash is a family-friendly outing to Minute Maid to watch the Houston Astros ‘swing for the fences.’
