Chesmar Homes has announced the pending sale of its 2021 GHBA Benefit Home in Lago Mar, which raises funds for two local charities.

Chesmar is constructing the popular Hillcrest Plan with donated materials, labor and services by GHBA members. Each year, two homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project. Homes are sold at market value and proceeds go to HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. This is Chesmar’s seventh Benefit Home in the charity’s 41-year history. Since the project began, more than $12 million has been raised.

Chesmar’s Hillcrest Plan is a one-story design that features four bedrooms with a game room option, three baths, a two-car attached garaged and a covered patio.

An extended foyer leads to open casual dining, a family room, and an island kitchen with additional countertop dining. Bedroom three can serve as a second master. The study is convenient to the common area and the master suite.

“The GHBA is grateful for the commitment by Chesmar and their incredible vendors, trades and suppliers for making this construction happen this year,” said Patrick Mayhan, chairman of the Benefit Homes Project. “Their Hillcrest Plan reflects the design and pricing that is most desired by smart homebuyers. It is not surprising that this home sold before it is even completed. With an expected closing date in May, the homebuyer will get to enjoy their summer in a beautiful Chesmar home in a community packed with amenities.”

Lago Mar is a 2,033-acre Land Tejas master planned community that features a 3,000 sq. ft. clubhouse complete with an expansive workout room, a catering kitchen, business center, restroom facilities and a uniquely equipped playground for the kids. The community has also recently opened its famed 12-acre Crystal Lagoon, the largest in Texas and a unique stay-cation destination. The lagoon features white sandy beaches, azure colored water and a beach boardwalk that is designed for casual dining.

This is the 18th lot donated by Land Tejas, a contribution totaling well over $1 million. Lago Mar is located off I-45 South in the Clear Lake, Galveston corridor. The community is near the Armand Bayou Nature Center, the largest urban wildlife refuge in the U.S. and just a few miles from Space Center Houston and the Kemah Boardwalk. Summer fun is also just south at Schlitterbahn Waterpark on Galveston Island and retail shopping is minutes away at the Tanger Outlet Mall.
