GHBA’s top recruiters for 2018 were honored at the association’s annual Installation Celebration, January 18 at the Houston Stampede Event Center. Terry Nesch with TONER Home Matters was tapped as “Spike of the Year.” The “Retention Spike of the Year” distinction went to Debbie Page, 1st Texas Fire Protection/1st Infiniti Enterprises.

Member-to-member recruitment and retention efforts are the largest source of growth for the association. GHBA’s “Spikes” are the membership leaders, building the voice, power and influence of our industry on every level. Spikes bring grassroots growth and stability, which further develop the general membership and leadership pipeline.

“Our members are the lifeblood of the GHBA,” said D’Ann Brown, GHBA Membership Committee chair. “And peer-to-peer recruiting is key to strengthening the home building industry. Thank you to all of our Spikes for your tireless efforts to grow your association.”

A relative newbie to the Membership Committee, Terry Nesch, TONER Home Matters, has hit the ground running, earning “Spike of the Year 2018” with 25 new members recruited! A GHBA member since 2016, Terry also serves on the Custom Builders Council board of directors.

“The very first time I attended a GHBA event, I knew that I was becoming a part of a first-class association. The members have always been so professional and friendly, and it has been such an honor to serve with these great folks,” Terry related.

“I have seen both personally and professionally the impact GHBA has had on me, my company and those I have introduced to GHBA. It is a great organization, and I will continue to tell the GHBA message to as many folks as I can,” she added.

For the third year in a row, Debbie Page with 1st Texas Fire Protection/1st Infiniti Enterprises was tapped as Retention Spike of the Year with 32 credits.

“Debbie is always one of the first to sign up for our membership drives, and she always tops the list as one of our best recruiters,” said Cynthia Fagan, GHBA membership director. “On behalf of GHBA, thank you for your contributions. You are a rock star, and we appreciate you!”
