WCR Application Process Reset

adminAdvocacy, Codes, Land Development

The Houston Permitting Center is working to improve the Wastewater Capacity Reservations (WCR) application process.

On May 1, the Houston Permitting Center launched a new process that introduced an appointment feature to schedule and process low impact letters, and eliminated “Short Form” applications and walk-in submittals. This resulted in long wait times to schedule an appointment and dissatisfied customers.

On Monday, August 14, HPC began the process of “resetting” and re-evaluating the whole process for inefficiencies. An immediate change will be the re-implementation of the Short Form application and walk-in submittals. The appointment feature will remain and should be used to submit your WCR application in person.

You are encouraged to submit applications online through iPermits while the City works to improve the process. Service by appointment is limited and walk-in customers may experience longer than normal wait times.
