On October 24, Dr. David Crowe, the chief economist and senior vice president at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), spoke to a room of builders and elected officials forecasting the future economic landscape of the building industry for 2013. GHBA members and attendees learned a wealth of information about intriguing patterns and shifts in the economic landscape of our industry. As we enter a rebuilding year, according to Crowe, there are many contributing factors leading to the Houston area's success in preserving through the recession better than the rest of the country. A deep understanding of these intricacies will better enable the building community to weather the burden of a struggling economy and lead to more success in the future. |
