In the wake of Hurricane Ike, Mayor White expects to identify hundreds, maybe thousands, of homes that need to be demolished and either rebuilt or the owners relocated to another new home. These homeowners will qualify for FEMA funds and HUD funds, as well as City of Houston assistance. Director of Housing and Community Development, Richard Celli, is putting together a program for builders willing to participate that will include interim construction financing.The homes will range up to $135,000.
