The GHBA’s Government Affairs Committee will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, November 28 at 2 p.m. in the GHBA boardroom. This meeting will cover a wide variety of topics both at the state and local levels.
We will provide a recap of the November general election, as well as an update on the committee’s work on changes to the Harris County Flood Control’s Policy, Criteria and Procedure Manual, the Harris County Subdivision Infrastructure Regulations and the City of Houston’s changes to Chapter 19 (the floodplain ordinance) and Chapters 9 and 13 to the Infrastructure Design Manual.
This meeting will also offer legislative preview on the issues we anticipate working on during the next legislative session which begins on January 8, 2019. As always, the GHBA and TAB will be active during the legislative session advocating for and against legislation that will impact the homebuilding industry.
This state-specific discussion will serve as a primer for the biannual Rally Day trip which will be on March 20, 2019. We will follow up with plenty of information about this as we get closer, but be sure to mark your calendar now.
