The Codes & Standards Committee meets monthly, usually on the second Thursday at noon. The committee is open to all GHBA members and local municipal building officials.

C&S Mission Statement
The mission of the Codes and Standards Committee is to assist and educate the membership of the GHBA on technical matters relating to residential construction, codes, standards, methods, and procedures for the benefit of the consumers they serve. The Committee
* Led the effort to adopt the International Residential Code,
* Works on issues ranging from building codes to privatizing inspections to mold remediation,
* Is active on the Construction Industry Council reviewing codes for the City of Houston, and
* Provides a forum for members and building officials to exchange ideas and information
