The Houston region continues to lead the nation in new housing starts. Although starts are down from the all time highs of a few years ago, values have held and we are positioned to bounce back more quickly with affordable, quality homes than any other major metropolitan area. The third largest association in the country, GHBA’s 2,000+ member companies represent more than 60,000 full time jobs. The local homebuilding industry generates about $3 billion in wages, taxes, fees, and other revenue to the local economy. A home is still a solid investment and GHBA members continue to help citizens realize the American Dream.
