Tracy Cook - President

Tracy started off in the home building industry by marketing homesfor over 2 years. She then moved into sales and has been selling new homes for over 3 years She has been involved with the GHBA for many years and started her involvement on the Membership Committee.  She was honored with the Rookie Spike of the Year in 2002 and is currently in the Green Blazer level for the SPIKE Club. Tracy has been on the SMC Board since 2002 and the Executive Committee since 2004.  This year, she was the PRISM Chair and is currently the Vice President for SMC.

Terry Dawson - Vice President

Terry has been an active member of Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) since 1999 and has served on the SMC Board since 2005. Terry is actively involved with three local chambers (Friendswood, Clear Lake, and League City), WCR, and the Bay Area Builders Association (BABA). Terry won Sales Manager of the year for Centex Homes in 2002. Terry was also recognized as a finalist for Sales Manager of the Year of the 2003 PRISM (Professional Results in Sales and Marketing) awards. Terry has been recognized as a Top Producer and has received numerous Million Dollar Circle Awards including two platinum levels.

Colleen Ellison - Treasurer

Colleen Ellison currently serves as Executive Board Secretary of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA).  She has been actively involved in the GHBA and its SMC for many years which has earned her the Associate of the Year distinction in 1999 and again in 2006.  She has earned her MCSP designation and is looking forward to completing her final class in the pursuit of her CMP.  In her tenured role as Regional Sales Director for Move, Inc., the most visited real estate network on the Internet, Colleen has gained valuable experience and insight that cultivates excellence in all of her roles, including the honored position of NAHB liaison for the Greater Houston Builders Association.

Shannon Parker - Secretary

Currently the Director of Marketing for Ashton Woods Homes, Shannon has more than 15 years of management, administrative and marketing experience in the real estate industry. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Santa Clara University in California and an MBA from a private university in Wichita, KS. Shannon is a licensed Realtor and has served on the SMC and PRISM Board for the past two years.

 

Yvonna Chavez - Immediate Past President

In Business Development with Visual Marketing, Yvonna has been an active SMC member since 1997. She was honored with the 2003 Associate Member of the Year PRISM Award. She also holds her active real estate license with Rayburn and Associates Realty, serving as President of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals Houston Chapter and as a member of the HAR International Advisory Council.

 

Keith Rodgers - SMC Membership Chair

Keith Rodgers, a native Houstonian, has been in the home building industry for over a decade.  In 1993, he began a career in sales with Kool*Ply, a company that was later bought by Louisiana Pacific.  Keith worked with Louisiana Pacific until the year 1997 marketing Tech Shield, formerly Kool*Ply, in multiple states. He then pursued an opportunity to market DuPont Corian to builders in the Houston area.  During his time at The Conrad Company, one of the country’s largest Corian distributors, he was recognized by DuPont with a national sales recognition award.  Keith is now responsible for the production builder sales for HomeTeam Pest Defense. Throughout his career in the home building industry, Keith has generously volunteered his time at the GHBA.  He has served on the board for the Bay Area Builders Association and the Associate Council.  At the 2002 PRISM awards, Keith was recognized by his colleagues as the Associate of the Year. Today, you will find Keith serving on several committees as well as serving as immediate past president for the national award winning Sales and Marketing Council.

Mike Blalock - SMC Special Events Chair

Mike Blalock is proud to market the city to newcomers through newcomer and relocation guides for Clear Lake, Northwest Houston, Texas 288 South, West Houston, Northeast Houston, Fort Bend and the bilingual Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Homebuyers Guide. Mike brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Sales and Marketing Council with more than 16 years of publishing newcomer and relocation guides.  He is an active member of the Houston Association of Realtors, the Houston Relocation Professionals, Women's Council of Realtors, the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau and numerous local Chambers of Commerce throughout greater Houston. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin.

Erik Cofield - SMC Education Chair

Erik Cofield, CGA has leveraged technology and provided business management consulting for all sizes and types of builders, developers and Remodelers since 1998, including volume, multi-family and custom, to help them improve their business. He is the US Mid-America Manager with BuildTopia, a widely used international construction management software company.  He enjoys applying best practices to businesses and being part of their success, growth and financial stability. As a long time advocate for education and professionalism in the residential construction industry, he managed the education program for the Greater Houston Builders Association for 2 years and holds the CGA (Certified Graduate Associate) designation from the National Association of Homebuilders. He is a member of 12 local, and 10 state home builder associations in the United States.

Kristina Jones - SMC Consumer Education Chair

I have been in the homebuilding industry for 8 years.  I was fortunate to meet some great people early on in my career who saw my potential and helped me to get my foot in the door.  I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Houston-Downtown and I have worked in marketing and sales for various homebuilders and industry related companies.  I am currently the Marketing Director for Meritage Homes Corporation in Houston.  I oversee all aspects of advertising, marketing and branding for our 60 Houston area communities and three product lines; Meritage Homes, Legacy Homes and Texas Big Homes.  This is my third consecutive year as a member of the Sales & Marketing Council Board of Directors.  Other than just being a fun group of people to be around, being involved with SMC allows me to meet other industry professionals and stay abreast of the latest happenings and trends.

Paul Silverman - SMC Professional Develoment Education Chair

Paul Silverman, CSP, MIRM is a Regional Sales Manager for Move, Inc., the most visited real estate network on the Internet. In 2006, Paul was honored with the PRISM Award for Marketing Professional of the Year. Along with serving on the SMC Board for the last two years, he has also served on the Custom Builder’s Council where he was honored with the CBC Member of the Year award for 2003. In addition to his activities with the GHBA, Paul also serves on the Houston Association of Realtors MLS Advisory Council. An advocate for the importance of education in the development process of professionals in the homebuilding industry, Paul has shown his dedication to education by earning the CSP and MIRM designations as well as chairing the professional education committee for the SMC.

Jackie Wilcox - SMC Programs Chair

Jackie Wilcox is Business Development Manager for Stewart Title and has been in that position for 11 years.  She has been involved in the Real Estate Industry for most of her career. She is a board member of the Sales & Marketing Council for GHBA, and chaired The New Home & Remodeling Show committee for three years. Jackie is a member of the executive committee and a co-founder of The Fort Bend Society of Commercial Realtors. She was a recipient of the PRISM award for Marketing Director of the Year as well as had the honor of receiving the PRISM award for Associate Member of the Year in 2000.  Jackie is a member of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, Houston Association of Realtors, and a former Vice Chairman of the Group Ticket Sales committee for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.

 

Laurie Wilson - SMC Marketing Co-Chair

A seasoned sales professional for New Home Guide, the nation’s leading publisher of new home directories, Laurie Wilson played a key team role in firmly establishing Houston as one of Consumer Source Inc.’s fasting growing launch markets in the country.  Prior to joining New Home Guide in 2005, Laurie was the Senior Account Manager for Hot On! Houston and has been an active member of both the GHBA and SMC since 2003.  Elected to the SMC Board in 2005, she was Co-Chair of the 2004 PRISM Judging Committee, Chair of the 2005 and 2006 Judging Committees, and Chair of the 2007 Criteria Committee. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Laurie was recently honored as SMCAssociate of the Year for 2006, and just earned her NAHB “Certified Sales Professional” (CSP) and Consumer Source, Inc. “President’s Club” designations.

Lona D. Alexander -

Lona is a native Louisianan and a graduate of the University of Central Florida.  She has been involved in marketing for 8 years, the last 3 of which have been in the housing/development industry.  She spent several years in Orlando managing events and marketing.  Deciding to be closer to home, Lona moved to New Orleans in ’02 and then relocated one final time to Houston in ’04.  Currently she is the Assistant Marketing Manager for GGP-Bridgeland, LP and works with a team on all aspects of marketing the new master planned community of Bridgeland to potential buyers and Realtors.  She has been an integral part in winning 10 awards for the community on both a local andregional level.  Lona has been a member of SMC since 2005 and is proud to now be serving on the Board. 

Kelly Watters -

Kelly Watters works in builder/developer account management for The Houston Chronicle/Chron.com. Since 2006, she has gained valuable experience consulting with Houston and National home builders and developers on their marketing needs. Kelly received a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin.

Sarah Lyon -

Sarah Lyon is a native Houstonian and began working in the Building Industry while pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston. Last year she joined Stewart Title as part of the Builder/Developer Services Team. She is active in the GHBA and in addition to serving as the PRISM Sponsorship chair for the SMC, is currently the Associate’s Council Treasurer, Membership Committee Vice-Chair, and past chair of the Ambassador’s Committee. Sarah is currently working toward a CGA designation.

Laurie Madden -

Laurie’s 15 years as a leader in the home building industry has given her an unparalleled insight into all facets of the business, focusing on customer relations and communications. Her work embraces progressive successes in consulting, management, advertising, public relations, internet communications, eMarketing and CRM systems. She was previously the National Internet Center Manager of Lennar, Corporation. She has been a Marketing Director and Regional Marketing Director at Ashton Woods and Beazer respectively, and is currently the owner of Madden Consulting Services.
