Duties and Powers of a Building Official

Q:  If I am using a product or building assembly in conflict with or ot addressed in the code, where

     may I obtain approval for its use?

O:  The IRS allows alternate methods and products to be used if approved by the local building

     official with jurisdiction over the building. As stated in IRC section R104.11 should the building

     not be located within the jurisdiction of amy municipality, the ruling of the building official of the

     county seat in the county where the building was confirmed by Tony Balay, Chief Building
